CD-ROM— Dakar Fisheries Symposium
Once again I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Daniel Pauly and his team at the Fisheries Centre at UBC to produce a CD to be presented at an International Fisheries symposium on the state of the fishery off the northeast coast of Africa. The symposium took place in Dakar, Senegal in June of 2002.
Since French is the official language of most of the countries in the region, this CD is bi-lingual.
The CD was used as a vehicle for the distribution of the results of the Guinean Trawling Survey, done in the 1950s. This was an important baseline study but because only a handful of copies of the survey exist, it has been very difficult for researchers to access the data. The CD also contains a complete searchable database of all fishes in the region.
A typical page of background information.
